Two new sites as part of the online marketing strategy for Postura Health

High Specification Foam and Choosing a Mattress are two new microsites that 21 Inspired put together as part of an online marketing strategy for Postura Health.

High Specification Foam is the new leading edge technology for mattress construction. The microsite provides a factsheet on it’s benefits, and links across to Postura’s mainsites. The next challenge is to raise awareness of the technology in a market where most consumers are only aware of older technologies like memory foam.

Choosing a mattress is a simple buyer’s guide to purchasing a mattress. It includes a link to Postura, but is a vendor neutral and relatively independent guide.

Our new partner, Pico Communications, helped us to develop the search engine optimised copy that is used on both microsites.

Asking the right questions to gain competitive advantage

The future is exciting, it will throw up challenges and opportunities in equal measure, it will surprise us, it may be uncertain, but we can’t afford to ignore it, because it is the world in which we will live and do business tomorrow. Can we better prepare for it and gain competitive advantage?

Try asking yourself some questions:

Will we still read printed newspapers in 5 years time?

Will industry be consolidated and global or will we move to a fragmented and local world?

Will our customers be homogeneous, passive and accepting or will they, driven by social trends and empowered by information, be individualistic and highly proactive?

Or perhaps, how will our geo-political landscape look? Will we live in city centres, the suburbs, or our market towns? Will your business operate in isolation or in Internet enabled global partnerships? How important will ethical markets become? Climate change? The power of the mega-retailers?

Now ask yourself what your answers could mean for your business. Are you starting to see new markets you could enter and new services you could deliver? Or perhaps challenges and threats you need to address? And what about the times when there is more than one path and you don’t know which way change is likely to lead? What will your business have to do to flourish if the question goes one way or if it goes another?

This is what we mean when we say “futures inspired business consultancy”. It’s about working with you to ask these questions, to inspire you to think totally differently. It’s about immersing you in the extremes of alternative, challenging and sometimes uncomfortable future worlds, because it’s here, outside of the “official straight line”, that you will truly discover new ideas and perspectives, make your decisions and projects more robust, and set clear vision for the future prosperity of your business.

21 Thoughts are delighted to be working with US based e-retailer Candyfleur to develop their Internet retail and business growth strategy.

Celinda Brugh, owner of Candyfleur, wanted to know how she could build the business beyond just an online store:

“bouquets of candy and chocolates is an exciting new market in the States, and whilst this is great in the short term, I was concerned about emerging competitors and wanted to make sure Candyfleur had a strong growth strategy. 21 Thoughts are helping me to understand future developments in the Internet and retailing, and also how I can make use of partnering opportunities to scale my business into a major player.”

Introduction to futures thinking and methods

How do you drive innovation within your business? Are you confident that you will deliver the products & services that will give you competitive edge in the future? Would you like to have a better understanding of your competitors’ plans? Will your distinctive competencies remain relevant, and let you grow into new markets? Where will those markets be and what form will they take? Can you maintain brand and reputation in an increasingly fragmented world?

Futures inspired thinking and methods, such as scenario planning, are increasingly being adopted by some of the world’s most innovative companies to address these and other strategic questions. At Philips they are cornerstone of their ‘innovation design’ philosophy, at Daimler Chrysler they inspire automotive engineering, at Orange they are used to explore brand futures, and at Nokia they are used to provide a deeper and richer understanding of the possible futures for their business.

At 21 Thoughts we specialise in futures inspired thinking. We’ve worked with businesses large and small to help drive their growth, strategy and performance.

Speak to us today to discuss how we can help your business meet the challenges of tomorrow.
